Announcements & Events
St. Johns is moving online to Church Center
St. Johns is moving forward to the 21st Century by going digital and opening our doors to more people both on and offline. Come the Late Winter or early Spring of 2025 St. Johns will be fully live on the mobile app platform, Church Center. St. Johns will be integrating a lot of our services through Church Center in the future in an effort to bring more people in to take part in what we do here.
While CHANGE can be scary, Change can also be full of new experiences and joy. To help ease any concerns we are announcing this early so as to be able to answer questions, educate and inform so the transition will be seamless and enjoyable. For those who aren’t tech savvy or those who still use landlines as your main method of communication then please be at ease as you do not need to change at all to still enjoy the same services here at St. Johns.
Presently we are still testing and adding features but we are planning a full launch as mentioned no later than Early Spring 2025. Below is an introductory video highlighting the Church Center App.
Christmas Play Live & Video performance
This years play is being filmed and performed live on December 15th during the service 10:00am – 11:15am. Please attend and enjoy the performance!

Thank you Tinker team for your service!
Kids Are Welcome
Thanks for bringing the kids along to church! They are very welcome to stay with you during the service. Most every Sunday, we will have God’s Kids during the service (following the Kids’ Talk). As a resource for parents, there is a great nursery area in the back corner; please help yourself to the children’s supplies on the table there.
Salvation Army Food Bank
The Salvation Army Food Bank is in constant need of food donations. The fourth Sunday of the month is the day the delivery will be made to the Salvation Army. Thank you to each and every one for your charitable donations.
Offering
We gather our tithes and offerings weekly. These gifts are not ‘got to’, they are ‘want to’, coming from a heart of thankfulness to God for all He has given us. But our weekly gifts also spring up from a Spirit-led desire to support the work of the Gospel in and through our faith community. The Gospel is what we need, as Christians who gather here to take this Good News out into our world. St. John’s carefully considers the stewardship of your gifts—not just for the nuts and bolts of staff and a building—but most importantly that Jesus might be seen and heard in all that we do, whether in speaking His words to others, or in helping those with all kinds of needs. Together we reach out with the love of Christ. Cash or cheques can be placed in the offering plates (envelopes are available). If you wish, you can set up direct monthly donations from your bank or E-transfer your gift to donations@stjohnsvernon.ca. Every gift is met with thanksgiving as we make every effort to make Jesus’ name known until His name is on every tongue and faith lives in every heart.
Prayer – You are not Alone
There is an e-prayer team willing and able to pray for concerns! If you have a concern that requires the Lord’s help and you have permission to share it, please email prayerteam@stjohnsvernon.ca or the church. If you are at church and need prayer, you can do one of 2 things: 1) fill out an orange prayer card and put it in the offering plate during offering. 2) talk to any member of our prayer team – Joel, Uta, Pauline, Diane – about personal prayer support. We are available after services. Please send an email to ‘prayerteam’ if you would like to be a confidential pray-er on this team. Please don’t carry your worries alone, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
